Scouts BSA

Scouts BSA (Formerly Boy Scouts)

Scouts BSA is tailored to youth 11-17 years old.  This year-round program emphasizes vigorous outdoor activities, and developing leadership skills and teamwork all under the guidance of an adult Scoutmaster.

Any youth between the ages of 11 and 17 may join Scouts BSA at any time!  Youth already enrolled in the Cub Scout program as Arrow of Light Scouts may become Scouts BSA scouts when they have earned the Arrow of Light Award.  Scouts BSA Troops are single gender.  There are many boy-only troops in the Garden State Council.  In February 2019, girls were able to join girl-only Scouts BSA troops.  The number of girl troops is growing quickly in the Garden State Council.
